WIC is the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children. It is a federally funded program operated by the Nevada State Health Division and implemented by the Sunrise Children’s’ Foundation to improve the health of Nevada residents who are eligible. Presently there are about 45,000 Nevada residents using WIC services.
WIC provides nutritious foods and education. WIC also provides referrals to other health and public agencies.
To be eligible you must:
1. Be a pregnant or recently pregnant woman, infant or child up to
age 5.
2. Have a moderately low income or be receiving TANF, Medicaid or
Food Stamp benefits.
3. Be determined to have a nutritional risk at your first WIC Clinic visit.
Many working families, including military families, meet our income guidelines. Our guidelines are much higher than for welfare programs. We include all money coming into the household as income- earnings, Social Security, etc. The amount allowed varies by family size- there is not one limit, call for more information.
There are many WIC clinics throughout Clark County. If you wish to apply for an appointment to determine if you are eligible, call one of the WIC clinics listed below.
